Fighter Jet Flight day Agenda
Arrival
When your flight is approved and paid, you will be awaited at the appointed time and date on the airfield to fly in a fighter jet. The pilot will meet you and introduce himself.
Locker Room
Together, you’ll go to the locker room where you’ll dress up with a flight suit, the helmet and boots. The pilot will be waiting for you at the briefing room where you will talk about the procedures to fly in a fighter jet. Your pilot will adjust the flight program to your wishes as long as it’s in line with regulatory and safety requirements.
Safety Training
What follows is a safety training: How to use the ejection seat in case of an emergency and what other general procedures to follow.
In-Cockpit Training
After the safety training, you’ll be cleared to the ramp where the plane is being made ready for flight. You can climb up the plane and take a seat in the cockpit. While you’re in the cockpit, the pilot will explain you all instruments and answer questions you might have. When all is clear, the your ejection seat will be put in active mode, the canopy will be closed.
Ready for Take-Off
The pilot enters his cockpit. The INTRACOM communications system will be tested to make sure you and the pilot can communicate during the flight. After last engine run up tests, the pilot will increase the engine power to 100%. The flight of your lifetime begins.
Flight
While you fly the fighter jet, you will experience how a military pilot feels during a jet flight. Multiple maneuvers such as rolls, loops and immelman are part of the program. You might even be allowed to control the jet on your own during the flight and under the supervision of the pilot. After this jet flight, you’ll know what it means and how it feels to perform a roll in a high-performance fighter jet yourself.
Debriefing
After the jet flight, when your pilot safely landed the plane and taxied to the hangar, ground personnel will open your canopy and secure the ejection seat. After being unstrapped, you’ll leave the jet and you’ll be given a certificate for your flight. Now’s also the time for shaking hands with the pilot and pose for some memory pictures with your pilot, in front of the aircraft.
